  • Hand Skiing?
Michael Temby on the low down with his self-designed freeboard - a single ski with no bindings. I saw a video of Michael doing tricks on his board that I never knew were possible. He inspired me to grab a freeboard too and learn some new moves. It's one of my favorite rides!

i got to hydrofoil behind the T-Mobile blimp! Along the way I did 9 flips on my hydrofoil which was good enough for a pending Guinness World Record (they had a Guinness judge in site). The test team several records in multiples of 9 to promo the upcoming release of the Samsung Galaxy 9 this week. What a ride!

  • Live Streaming
It’s my first time out messing around with streamers. I’ve had a long-time vision of doing rolls on a sit-down hydrofoil with long streamers corkscrewing behind. I turned an 8 foot wooden pole into a handle and attached red streamers to each end. Not bad for a first try, but I know there’s a lot more to this one…

  • Single Doubles with @tanya.klarich
I just picked up a 72” FreeRide from @hoskis specifically to work on single ski doubles. I’ve been inspired watching vintage show ski footage of my uncle Mike Murphy at Marine World where this act was a staple of the show. It’s so exciting to know there are still so many avenues to explore in water skiing after almost fifty years!

  • RIP Roger Crocker
Today we lay to rest a good friend, father, and amazing skier. We had so many shared memories and adventures…his accidental death is just another reminder of how precious life is and how important it is to live in love, thankfulness and awareness every day.

In 1988 Klarich surf photographer Rick Doyle. He adapted his surf gear for some of the first helmet cam shots in water skiing (16 years before the first GoPro was sold). This rig was a genuine Chargers helmet with about 15 pounds of camera gear mounted inside 2 counter-balanced water housings. Doyle used a remote from the boat to take each shot, a roll of 36 before the whole thing had to be taken apart bolt by bolt and reloaded with film.

This style of shot was brand new in skiing and the resulting pics garnered 2 covers, numerous full-page ads, and a feature story in Photographic magazine.
