Liquid Force Venture (circa 1997): I first rode this board at the River and immediately fell in love with it. I was recently off the payroll at HO, and although I was able to get some free stuff here and there, never found a wakesurfer I really connected with. Just like with the HO Freeride, I knew immediately this was a board I wanted. Fortunately we were riding with the Liquid Force rep at the time, and he hooked me up with a board at dealer cost. It was the most I had ever paid for a piece of personal ski equipment.
It’s funny but my son and I don’t usually use the Venture in the traditional way, that is surfing without the rope (although he did learn to surf with the Venture 2-boat style without the rope). We most often ride with a 20-25′ Poly-E rope. The board is set up with a single fin for easy spins.
We love riding the wakesurfer in the afternoons when the water is choppy. The slower speeds make falls easier, but we still manage to challenge ourselves by learning new moves.
