  • Really Big Shoe

The giant Rainbow Sandal was my last ride at the #CaliforniaSkier50for50 , but it was not mine. So I bought one on eBay, and had fun yesterday figuring out a new way to get up on it. The start is dialed in, and now it’s time to find out what this shoe can do!

I weigh about 210 pounds and with a shoe size of only 10.5, it is a big disatvantage for barefooting. When the boat only goes 39-40, the water breaks super far forward on my feet and it’s walls and walls of water!

  • On the Table

All picnic tables are not created equal, as I learned at the MasterCraft 40-40-400 in 2004. This one was very heavy with the benches built in. There was also extreme drag because the of the considerable spaces between the tabletop piece. The solid table top is the way to go for tricks!

  • Wake-Skate-Board

My best moves on this longboard are a beach start and 180s. For someone who is a better skater it is surly possible to do a towed dock start into a 180 kick flip start. GOALS…

  • Ride the Rainbow (sandal)

The last ride from my 50 for 50! It was something new to me and took about 10 minutes to figure out! Good times with good friends.

I am currently gathering video and images for the upcoming documentary of my family’s life in towed watersports! Looking forward to the edit with @marcus_brown_

  • Freeboarding!

This ski is my grandfather's Nick Murphy, Sr. from the 1950s.

I got the inspiration for this move from a 1980s Brett Wing backwards barefoot move.

Freeboarding has been around since the late 1940s, and it has become one of my staple rides. Its’ great for developing all-around-balance> this ride is easy enough to be accessible but tough enough to be challenging!

A memorial for Bill von Zabern, the iron man of hydrofoiling.
